WELCOME TO WASHINGTON STATE AND OREGON!

Washington State and Oregon may be neighbors, but their wine regions look very different. Oregon's vineyards lie west of the Cascades, on the coastal side of the Pacific Ocean. The climate can be described as maritime. In Washington, most of the vineyards are located on the eastern side of the mountains, where the climate is continental (hot, dry summers and cold winters). Washington's vineyards on the arid eastern plain benefit from irrigation, and all the Bordeaux varieties, as well as Chardonnay and Syrah are grown here.   Washington state’s oldest and most acclaimed winery features award-winning wines and an unparalleled tasting experience at our historic chateau and grounds near Seattle.

Columbia Winery Cellar Master Riesling 2008Columbia Winery Cellar Master Riesling 2008
$10.99

In the aroma, we found dusty fruit, apples, pomegranates, herbs and a hint of oil. This wine tickled the tongue with flavors of ripe McIntosh apples and a bit of brininess. It was well balanced, not too sweet. It ranked first in our tasting." -Statesman Journal, Oregon 10/08

Pacific Rim Sweet Riesling 2008Pacific Rim Sweet Riesling 2009
$9.99

The resulting wine is moderately sweet and refreshingly low in alcohol — less than 9% — with flavors of pineapple and peach. The Sweet Riesling brings perfect balance to all fiery fare — especially Thai, Szechwan and Caribbean cuisine... or simply enjoy as an aperitif.

Elk Cove Willamette Valley 2009 Pinot NoirElk Cove Willamette Valley 2009 Pinot Noir
$26.99

A very good source for firmly structured, spicy, mineral-tinged Pinot Gris wines that favor finesse and precision over weight.  Elk Cove also produces rich, powerful, smoky Alsace-influenced Pinot Blanc and an equally assertive Riesling that's loaded with ripe, even exotic, fruit flavors.

Rex Hill Willamette Valley 2007Rex Hill Willamette Valley 2007
$23.99

The 2007 Willamette Valley Pinot Noir is medium dark red in color.  The wine was stopped with a natural cork and decanted an hour before tasting.  The wine has aromas of cherries and plums.  It has a strong cherry base with an undertone of berries and plums.  This is a lighter Pinot Noir, but is very good.
