ArgentinaWelcom to Argentina!
We Carry over 30 wines from Argentina!

Don't cry for Argentina! - Despite a history of making relatively uninteresting table wine, the country now turns out some very compelling vino.  Like its south american neighbor chile, argentina is groing better grape varieties and focusing on quality than quantity.  the variety with which argentina has had the most success is malbec.  malbec has its roots in france, where it's grown in bordeaux, the loire valley, and cahors.  in both bordeaux and the loire, malbec is a blending frape (used to complement wines made mainly from other grap varieties), but in cahors malbec takes center stage.  it is te model that argentina has embraced, producing wines that are 100 percent malbec or that are primarily malbec with a bit of cabernet sauvignon blended in.   Argentina's malbecs are richly textured and densly flavored, with flavors and aromas of plum, berries, leather, and spice.  they pair perfectly with argentina's favorite foodstuff:  grass-fed beef.  best of all, they have remained very affordabe; there are many terrific wines available for under $20.00 per bottle.

Lovely ripe, smooth and full-bodied Argentinean red. Made from a 100% Malbec sourced from some of the best vineyard sites in Argentina and made by one of the country’s most renowned producers. It’s a rich, soft plum and blackcurrant fruit flavored red with a long satisfying finish and smooth tannins.

Sottano Malbec Reserve 2006Sottano Malbec Reservbe 2006
$24.99

91 Points The Wine Spectator
Excellent colour, good varietal expression. Very complex nose of red and black fruits and spices such as clove and white pepper on the nose. Good structure, with ripe tannins well integrated with wood. Long and persistent finish.

Tilia Malbec

Tilla Malbec
91 Points Wine Spectator
$9.99

The wine has a very dark purple color and a moderately intense berry aroma. There is no spice to the aroma, but there is some sharpness from the 13.5% alcohol content. The spiciness comes out in the taste alongside some black currants, vanilla and chocolate. The finish is refreshing with its tartness, but not much of the flavour remains.

Layer Cake Malbec

Layer Cake Malbec
$15.99
91 Points Wine Enthusiast

Pure, rich and very elegant; a powerhouse of lush black fruit, silky cocoa, black spice and cream, wrapped around blackberry, cherry and ripe plum.  Layered and complex with a nose to linger over, a finish that never ends.  Sweet anise, hints of tobacco, black chocolate, more cherries and exotic spices, layers of jam.  This wine will stand and perform anytime you think of a Cabernet and want something just a little more exotic.
